and joined a gym. I couldn't pass up the price at $20 a month (that includes tax) and it is close to home! Now, all I need to do is GET there! Like I always say, showing up is HALF the battle. Once you get in the parking lot of the gym, it is all downhill from there...or at least for me!
I go in the beginning of next week for my first (one of two free) personal training sessions. I am PRAYING that #1- I get a woman and #2- that I don't die. I know that there is no fear in Jillian Michaels coming out of the back to "train" me (although, THAT is probably what I *really* need), but personally, I think the first session is always the hardest. I mean, you don't know them, they are getting to know things about you that your husband or wife may not even know about you! All I know is that I need to listen, take notes, and stay focused if I want to try to lose 25-30 pounds by Christmas! Of course, if I even come close to that...I will be happy!! God knows that I will look better anyway!
Another thing that scares me is the fact that I *really* *really* *really* need to be diligent and track every morsel of food! This is going to have to be a HUGE commitment this time around...no playing or dabbling! I may even buy a few more training sessions a few weeks into it to change it up and have someone measure the results. I think that it may be worth it in the long run having someone look at it that is unbiased and trained to see and correct (or at least try to help correct) anything that is missing or not working out. I guess we will see about that one!
All I know now is...I have a few people watching me since posting it on FaceBook. One is my family...Hubby is the most watchful. Not that I like wasting money either, but I don't want him to think that I am just throwing it down the drain.
This weekend, I would like to make a list of groceries to buy and a menu for the next week or so. With the colder weather setting in here, soups, stews and other hearty dishes are more welcomed...however, we may just have to grill out hamburgers (and me my 45 calorie turkey dogs) one or two more times this year!
Well, until the next time (which is hopefully tomorrow)...I am signing off!
